HEARTCORE 37 10.02.2009 A [ new Heartcore! ] Arrrgh, so close and yet so far to the good stuff. But soon~ [ It's like Capcom is trying to apologize...half-heartedly. ] HEARTCORE 36 09.29.2009 A [ new Heartcore ] for you fine folks. No one is even nearly as pleased with the situation as Ame, except maybe for... ...say, Asmodai and Slade both seem pretty aloof don't they? HEARTCORE 35- what drives the devil 09.25.2009 A [ new Heartcore! ] This is the first clear evidence of my affinity for Slayers as well - Ame can attack in various ways, and one way is spells akin to the beloved Lina Inverse. I never considered a [ pre-order for Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles ] until I realized it comes with a t-shirt that, when flipped over your head from the front, instantly makes you a zombie. It makes me a consumer whore, but what could be better than a shirt that both instantly increases the zombie level of a room by 100% AND will likely cause some flesh-related events to occur? HEARTCORE Artwork 09.22.2009 I made a small alteration to Heartcore late in the game, so sadly the next page isn't quite ready. Knowing this, I finished a [ Heartcore-related artwork of Amethyst and Emerald ] doing what they do best, providing fanservice after a chapter that was a sausage fest for good measure. Not much else is new aside from an [ interview with Suda51 ] that claims No More Heroes is staying exclusive to Nintendo - just that the 3rd game would likely be in the next gen. [ Also, this makes me want to avoid buying anything from Best Buy ever again...jeesh! ] HEARTCORE Page 34 09.18.2009 A [ new Heartcore ] for you folks, updated shortly before I have to attend a wedding no less. There's some minor insight on how "The Demon Three" [as Goristro/Emerald/Carval are called in Heartcore's script] interact - basically like most demons they'd rather be aggressive more than anything else. In this sense, Ame is more similar to them than she thinks~ HEARTCORE Page 33 09.15.2009 [ New Heartcore! ] All I can say on this one: Ame is incredibly lucky that it was Carval, because he's easily the weakest overfiend there. A small bit of insight for those interested: Carval is part imp, thus fairly weak, simple minded, and claw/fire-based. A few people have also been wondering about his tail, so I'll clear it up in case anyone else inquires: yes, it's very dinosaur-like, intentionally. :U I thought it looked cool AND eluded to how primitive he is. HEARTCORE Page 32 09.11.2009 [ New Heartcore! ] Admittedly, I've been having close calls schedule-wise lately (because Ryo and I love to bro it up) but I somehow manage. Here's some more obnoxious soliciting on my part concerning The Protomen: [ This is easily one of the best songs on the album. ] If you dislike it, something is wrong with you. No exceptions! HEARTCORE Page 31 09.08.2009 [ A brand new Heartcore page for you folks ], with one of Ame's abilities put to use! Also: The awesome band behind the Mega Man Rock Opera, [ The Protomen ], released their second album today! Now, I already own a The Protomen t-shirt, but I gotta admit [ the new stuff they released ] is REALLY tempting. HEARTCORE Page 30 09.04.2009 [ Ame definitely has something planned. ] Especially with an expression like that. Has a small tinge of 'Can I play with madness?' to it. (Awesome Iron Maiden song, by the way.) And of course: [ Awesome new No More Heroes trailer! ], showing us the mini-games are now glorious pseudo-8bit 2D (hence a LOT more fun now) and wackier than ever. I admittedly haven't played many videogames as of late, hence the UOM slowdown...but I may have to drop everything ever for the better part of a week to play a mini-game where Travis Touchdown grills a medium-rare steak. I never thought a sentence would contain "Travis Touchdown" and "grills a medium-rare steak", but now I have determined what heaven is like. Not much else, although I do wonder why [ men are the size of trucks ] in videogames these days. Another guessing game is where the song used for the chapter title comes from....but alas, I mention it below anyway. Ryo herself is finally back in the drawing gig, and did two awesome Heartcore-related fanarts of [ Amethyst Lashiec ] and [ Teodora Radinov ]. There's also a [ contest to get your shirt design in No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle ], which looks pretty neat. MAKE TRAVIS BEAUTIFUL~ I personally haven't gotten past doing any design that doesn't involve kittens acting stupid, so maybe you can give it a shot! Just think: Everyone who buys the game (which certainly includes myself) will eventually get to stare at your ugly shirt. Maybe we'll even find it in a dumpster like in the first game. HEARTCORE PARODY GUEST COMIC 08.25.2009 Today, I get to be lazy. Today, you get not one, but SIX hilarious [ Heartcore Guest Parody Comics ] by Sprang! It parodies the bulk of Heartcore's first chapter. c: So great timing on her part. One could say "What lo, why aren't you offended?" And I would say...what the hell, that's like asking Kojima if Metal Gear Awesome offended him. This is HILARIOUS. Hell, Asmodai's new household name is now "Assmode" thanks to this. You should totally [ Commission her ], keep in mind she was responsible for those awesome [ Rip and Tear plushtoys ] as well. [ A quick look at the big man himself, Royce! ] Yes, he was the fan favorite...although Teodora was ridiculously close. So close that I'm convinced Royce got the prize simply because he had more panel time. HEARTCORE page 18 07.16.2009 And today we have [ A VERY familiar face. ] Oh hey, [ a sequel to Valkyria Chronicles! ] ...that is PSP-exclusive and is based on "schoolyard shenanigans"? Nevermind, nuke it from orbit. HEARTCORE page 17 07.14.2009 [ The celebration of sorts is underway ] as the rest of the demonic cast is introduced. Some familiar, some not so much. Carval / Emerald / Goristro are sadly significantly weaker than the rest of the overfiends, so they work as a bumbling team. Goristro's overfiend outfit is also rather plain...since he normally wears armor. :P Emerald appears as a guest character courtesy of [ Cory ] HEARTCORE page 16 07.09.2009 [ Really, what did Suko ever do to her? Or Ame for that matter... ] Teo has some underlying issues no doubt, but considering her father is Asmodai, I wouldn't trust her about as far as I could throw her. ...Okay so she's like 80 lbs, but let's pretend she's fat. Like crazy fat. And now that I've introduced Teodora to the scene, expect this celebration they keep referring to next update! HEARTCORE page 15 07.07.2009 [ ...The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, it seems. ] Is this small demon taking the time for a few potshots before things heat up? There was originally an Ame/Suko bonding scene here, but I took it out for the sake of touching upon this character a bit more before things go nuts - she plays a heavy role in it so a figured shedding some light on her personality prior would be best. There's time for personal character development later! HEARTCORE page 14 07.02.2009 [ So now we have his name, and know there's definitely trouble to follow! ] Meet Asmodai, the resident tactician whose silver tongue is second to none. And yes, it's the same Asmodai from [ the trial group image ], and he's definitely changed visually. I was going to have his wings wrap in front of him akin to Goliath from Gargoyles - but it got in the way of the more regal parts of his outfit. Teo went through a minor change as well - her shackles are a bit more obnoxious now. HEARTCORE page 13 06.30.2009 [ And now for something different. ] A new overfiend appears, with a character a few of you may be familiar with tagging along! Easily the most fun (and most simple) thing to draw on this page were the bats for the first panel. Ridiculously easy. CUE COMIC WITH NOTHING BUT BATS.
